Virtual Tours and Setting the Price

Remember when pricing your virtual tours, beating your competitors (if not a limited time special) may not be in your company's best interest. Does it attract clients who want a quality product? Or, will it attract clients looking for the lowest price? If the latter, then realize you will not be attracting a long-term, repeat customer because they will always go for the lowest price. As John Ruskin said, "The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." We have a good product, and long-term, repeat clients will pay for a good product.

  1. Good point Ben. My feeling is that playing a price war is only a race to the bottom. We do offer a great product and lets not forget all the features and benefits it offeres to our customers. You are always better off giving the customer great service and a great experience that they will remember much longer than a low price.

  2. As I look around at my competition I realise that, at times, very little thought has gone into planning the product and price they are offering. It is very easy therefore to price higher and have a better definition of my product and, at the same time, have the knowledge that mine is a very good product. Understand that your competition has gone through the process and has ultimately come up with that particular pricing structure after who knows how long or what debate took place. I would also be aware of your competitors benefits, if any, and certainly take into account all shortfalls.

  3. We price our VT depending on homes or commercial property. Just like the phone, cable or gas company it cost more for a bussiness VT. Is that the way we should be doing it? It works for us. It also allows for specials. We do the 5 for 5 for $95.00 for Realstate companies but hotel we charge quite a bitter more. We have done VT for hotels for $700.00 before. Depending on the work and time we put into it. However we do special and run for 10 days only $200.00. It works well for us. How do you do it if you dont mind me asking?
