RTV Tour Track End of Year Summary

Happy New Year from RTV's Tour Track team!

I hope everyone had a great year, I know we did! From the sound of things most of our virtual tour providers saw about a 30% increase in business this year. Here’s a recap of how well Tour Track did this year.  Tour Track photographers shot, processed and delivered roughly 1500 jobs and were paid over $300,000 for their work!! Our top performers in the RTV virtual tour network earned over $10,000 and we had 21 dealers make over $3,000.  Fantastic!

Some things to watch for this coming year. We’ll be working hard to rewrite and edit our order details to make them more clear, concise and informative. We've listened to your requests for earning more money on the jobs that take longer and we're working hard with existing contracts to do just that. Finally, we’re also looking at different ways to help your photos upload faster so hang in there everyone as we continue to grow our Tour Track division.

Quality will be on the forefront in 2011 as we raise the photography bar and push you to learn and grow as photographers.  We will be trying out some new methods for shooting to see if we can get better control over the quality and consistency of the product coming to us for processing.  We will hold many more photography training webinars and make sure information is provided to keep you up to date and in the know. Please be on the lookout for Ben's 'Shoot Like a Pro' series.  Happy New Year everyone!

Virtual Tour Testimonial

I have been with Real Tour Vision virtual tour software digital marketing company for almost two years. Prior to joining RTV I looked at other virtual tour companies and took great care in deciding who to join as a partner. Every other virtual tour company out there had just enough difference that making a final decision was not easy.

I'm here to say that my decision with which network and company to partner with for my technology has turned out to be correct. RTV is constantly helping my virtual tour business grow and is continually providing training and virtual tour software updates us providers.

I have studied photography for over 30 years and thought a refresher class would be a bit of a bore. Well I was wrong! It's great that they cover parts of photography that becomes natural, I've been doing the same thing for years. One virtual tour webinar that RTV just held reminded me of a depth of field function that I had not used in years. Great stuff!

I'm very pleased that they bring new software products to the webinars. I wouldn't have known about Photomatix until much later. The fact that they find products that are free like FastStone has been a huge help to me, not to mention free. The support is by far the best in the industry and the costs are very fair. I couldn't have found a better virtual tour company to have partnered with.

RTV is about to release their new tour builder software 4.awesome and it is all online! It looks and functions great. This update will keep RTV at the top of Virtual Tour companies.

I love providing virtual tours to the various Real Estate offices as well as the business that have an understanding what a virtual tour can do for their website and bringing in new clients. Here is a before and after shot that would not have been possible without being part of the RTV dealer group.

My photography has improved since I joined RTV and I'm confident that is shows in my work.

Lenawee County Home Inventory Tours

Inventory Documentation Services gives owner Hal Holubik of Toursdforce, a Lenawee County virtual tour company, what he wants out of life – a great deal of satisfaction  in knowing that the service that he provides to others  will give them security and peace of mind.  With an up-to-date home or business inventory Hal Holubik’s clients have in hand the information that they will need to protect themselves if disaster does strike.

Lenawee Home inventory documentation is nothing new for Toursdforce, but it is just now seeing remarkable growth. Large companies have known the value of a thorough asset list for years, and now small- to medium-sized businesses and homeowners are realizing the need as well. A thorough inventory is a great tool to help people remember, whether their loss is from a fire, burglary or natural disaster. Personal property inventories are either beneficial – if not essential – for many other reasons, some being estate planning and settlement, divorce, prenuptial agreements, taxes and valuations, moving, and buying or selling a home or business.

Experiencing is certainly the hard way to learn the value of a personal property inventory, and Holubik’s first-hand knowledge speaks for itself. His family experienced a financial loss after their garage was broken into.  Hal quickly did a visual inventory for the policy report and then was granted a 6 week extension from his insurance company to come up with a complete missing item list. One year later they’re still finding items missing that were not reported. “You simply cannot remember everything until you go to get it”, states Hal Holubik. This instance would have benefited greatly from a thoroughly prepared inventory.

Insurance Companies, Agents, law enforcement agencies, and Financial Advisors strongly recommend through documentation of personal property to ensure your family’s financial protection in the future.  Tourdforce Home Inventory Service provides a professional, reliable, third-party home and business inventory designed to maximize your claim as well as making the process smoother and faster.  In addition their service can document your personal property prior to a move or storage in the event you need to prove damage or theft.  Fire, floods, thieves or storms can take away a lifetime of memories and valuables.  Don’t add additional grief and pain by not being prepared for your insurance company.

About Toursdforce inventory documented tours. Toursdforce professional photographer has the perfect solution for you AND your valuables with their Home Inventory Tour!  They will photograph, document and securely store all of your valuables on their secure servers and onto a CD for you and one stored in your file at your insurance agency for your proof of ownership which is only a mouse click away!  Did you know that when making an insurance claim a photo is worth as much as an actual receipt to your insurance company?

Bartering with Virtual Tours

Here at Lafayette Virtual Tour Company it's not always about the money. I wanted to share my bartering experience with everyone because it has been a win-win situation for me and the other party. The other party is actually a Lafayette Chiropractor and let me tell you how we came together and decided to swap his services for a virtual tour. I pick him because my wife knew his wife but we had never met but I had to see someone because I was having chronic back pain. So I came in for my first appointment and filled out the paper work and in the employment section I never leave it to just self-employed I always add the detail that I am a virtual tour provider.

I do this because I hope it will start a conversation that will lead to business and in this case it did. He confessed that he had been wanted to do something like a tour for a long time. So the conversation progressed to his rank on Google and he needed help with that too. I told him that the tour could be done immediately but the SEO optimization takes time and he said that would be fine because to resolve my back issues I should see him once a week for 12 weeks. I am very happy I offer such a unique service that is of such great value to business owners like my Chiropractor that bartering is a viable option.

Know When to Say When

Being in business for yourself means that you need to learn how to invoice and collect from your customers. Having a customer that is ten days out on a one or two hundred dollar invoice is NOT grounds for throwing the relationship away but turning off their service. Here's my advise on knowing when to say when and how you should approach collection on accounts. Enjoy the video!

"Out-Back" Outsourcing

Greetings from your Nova Scotia Virtual Tour Provider Nancy Bain and Supernova Studios.

Hey folks, I’m out back (outsourcing) on the deck! That’s right, there are 3 “yard boys” running in every direction making my world beautiful while I sip a pina colada in awe.

Wait now, before you judge.... It’s Sunday, and I’ve worked 76 hours this week and although I sip a pina colada outside, I’m also writing this virtual tour blog. My week is not yet over.

A company "outsources" when it hires another person or company outside its organization to perform work it had been doing itself. Companies typically outsource functions such as bookkeeping, accounting, human resources, payroll, and data entry. The advantages to outsourcing are numerous, both for the company who is outsourcing and the business performing the outsourced work.

To a layman, outsourcing would seem like a waste of time and money, as well as an unneeded complication.

But to a business person, outsourcing is a modern day boon. Outsourcing gives our virtual tour businesses the freedom to dump non - core, yet important sectors of its administration on companies specializing in those fields. Leaving you free to wholly concentrate on those areas of the company that bring in the real moolah.

As a virtual tour business owner your time is at a premium. It is important for you to keep doing what you do best: that might be in the creative side of the business, or in the customer side, or in the manufacturing side; wherever and whatever it is focus on what you do best, hire when you have a full time need (perhaps your business has a need for one or more full time sales representatives, for example), then outsource the rest of your needs.

And, if one of the things you do best is answer phones, or write web content, make sure that you carefully review whether or not you could outsource those tasks so that you can focus on higher impact/higher profit endeavors such as building good customer service and relationships, or focus on developing problem solving techniques for and/or with your staff, or on managing change and/or focus on your business plan outline and checklist.

It all comes down to the money. Let's face it; we live in a material world. Outsourcing my house cleaning, yard maintenance, bookkeeping and blog syndication afford me the time to focus on my core activities and streamline my business operations. It gives me access to professional capabilities, and piece of mind that the process is in good hands.

Letting go of complete control of my business (and home) operations was; at first, a bit of a struggle for this control freak. I was sure that no one could do any of these jobs as well as I could, and there was a certain amount of pride at the end of the day (when I fell in bed exhausted) considering all that I had accomplished.

But for every hour I spent mowing the lawn (a job that I did not enjoy) or cleaning the bathrooms (ditto) those were hours that I did not spend marketing my virtual tours, updating my website, building customer relations and engaging in social media – my passions.

"It's so hard when I have to, and so easy when I want to". ~Annie Gottlier

When I do the things I’m passionate about and love to do, I’m happier -in my element. I accomplish more things that matter (affecting my bottom line) which affords me the resources to grow my Nova Scotia virtual tour business. And, at the end of the day, I’m still pretty proud of myself. I didn’t really want to be the best lawn mower in the Martimes anyway.

Cheers!

Trick of the Trade

I want to continue on a virtual tour blog I did earlier.  I spoke about using a telephoto lens, mounting it on your landscape adaptor on your tripod.  Making sure it is level, you allow the horizontal lock to be free.  From experience, you take the number of stills that will cover the scene you wish to take, being sure to overlap well with each still.

Now you will have to manually stitch these stills.  PanaVue Image Assembler Photo Stitching Software  came with your virtual tour software package from RTV and is not difficult to use at all. I use three flags to stitch. When you are done, you will have your beautiful scene in telephoto and a pano.

Another trick that I use to gain that professional look is to use Exposure Fusion to enhance the pano. But you need more than one of the scenes that is over/under exposed or both is best.  You can create this by using one of your photo shop softwares. Take the original virtual tour pano, enhance it with the ‘brightness’ control saving one as ‘dark’ and one as ‘light’. How much brighter and how much lighter, I will leave that up to you to experiment with. Using Photo studio 6, I simply move the glider all the way to the left for dark and all the way right for lighter.  Now you have three for the exposure fusion engine to process.    Lastly you will need to size this massive file down to 800 kb. And then add it to your tour by simply using the ADD button and making sure you click the button, full 360 Pano.  You will WOW your virtual tour clients with this technique.

I’ve attached the two scenes. Which one do you think has been enfused?

Engaging Your Customers in a Digital World

"Take Action!" I don’t care what type of business you’re in, what you’re selling, or where you are in your strategic plan, the goal of your marketing message is to motivate your prospects into taking the next step. Today, companies are going to greater lengths to capture their customers' attention and win their loyalty—They are joining social network sites, they’re blogging, they’re building fan pages, they’re finding new places where their brands can be seen—but are they talking with their customers, are they getting to know their customers, are they talking to their staff to get customer insights, are they asking their customers for feedback as to how they might improve their services. One of the most powerful components to engage customers is sometimes the most undervalued: customer service.

Looking for a ways to engage customers with Tours D’ Force, a Lenawee County virtual tour company began a search for other companies that had already established customer service standards to see what their experiences were.

First they searched Google for “small business with customer service standards” and the results were surprising. The first three page results were as follows: there were no small business companies listed in the search results. The majority were informational websites which occupied 99% of the results. The balance a government site (The Dept. of Energy).

So they then searched Google for “virtual tour customer standards” and found only 2 individual virtual tour providers (Real Vision Studio & Nova Scotia Virtual Tours – Hats off …, to you!) had made mention of customer service standards.

Coming from a quality background Hal Holubik, Owner/Operator of Toursdforce expected the search results to be dominated by or at least making reference to virtual tour company customer service standards. But he was completely WRONG.

He really thought that there would be many virtual tour companies out there that had established customer service standards and that they would publish them. WRONG again. Why don’t more virtual tour companies create and publish standards of service for the whole world to see. Wouldn’t you think that if they did that they would have more loyal customers?

Here are some reasons why they should.

Your customer service standards will help your entire operation perform better and keep your practices repeatable. Your customer service standard should define your brand and give customers a reason for doing business with you.

Your customer service standards will tell your customers that you have a system in place and what it is that you’ll do for them, how you will treat them and what they should expect from you. Theres a way to tell the world why your virtual tour company is better than any other company out there. They show your customers how you will do something for them that no other company will.

Standards provide a practical framework for small business owners and employees to examine, review, and continuously improve any area of a business. Investing time in creating customer service standards leads to increased operational efficiency, improved customer services, increased sales, higher returns, and greater profitability.

I hope that you can see that well-crafted followed and publicized customer service standards can be a valuable engagement opportunity for your company. The truth is that service matters to people, especially in an economy where consumers are thinking as much as ever about which companies deserve their hard earned cash.

As a matter of fact, a recent study from RightNow.com that measured how much more people are willing to spend to get better customer service revealed that 85% of people are willing to spend more money to get better service, with 76 percent willing to pay about 5 percent more to be assured that the customer service they receive is good. More than half (55 percent) would pay a 10 percent premium on the product price to be assured of a higher level of service. But a small number (10 percent) would be willing to ante up 25 percent more for better service.

According to the RightNow survey; word of mouth is the one form of advertising that can't be bought. Maybe it can't be bought with hard currency, but it can, apparently, be bought with good service. Their research found that consumers are far more forgiving if a company has earned their trust over time. In fact, almost nine-in-ten consumers are willing to give a company a second chance after a bad experience if they've historically experienced great customer service with that company.

That goes right back to why it's so critical that companies listen to what customers are saying and are responsive to their needs. The insights a company gains by listening closely to its customers will help it deliver better service and create an environment where customers are inclined to stay loyal even when things aren't perfect. And when it comes to showing customers why they should “choose you”—customer service is the best strategy of all.

Don’t you think it’s time to take a look at your customer service policies and procedures?

Always on and Always Connected

Supernova Studios, your Nova Scotia virtual tour provider  on Mobile Marketing, property specific websites and QR codes.

Mobile is on the fast track to becoming the most wide spread media channel in the world. Over one billion mobile devices are sold annually and worldwide mobile advertising revenues are expected to reach $3.5 billion this year and predicted to hit $24 billion within 5 years.

Always on and always connected – Mobile marketing is the most personal and interactive marketing available ever. It can reach people when they are actually out living their lives and making purchases. It can drive people into stores, and remind people of your call to action when they are actually in a position to take it. A solid mobile marketing strategy can help any company create personal, one-on-one relationships with their clients, create trust and encourage repeat business. Mobile understands consumers are at the center and that they want speed and efficiency, information that is personalized, localized and customized, targeted promotions, timeliness and availability.

Mobile is impacting everything, and it’s a game-changer. We've been using our phones to connect with other phones (M2M - mobile to mobile) via SMS. SMS is a short message (usually limited to 160 characters, including spaces). An SMS can also be exchanged between mobiles and computer servers, using a short code. People can receive status updates from my fan page by texting "Like NovaScotiaVirtualTours" to 32665. For Twitter I ask users to follow me by texting "follow ns360tours" to 40404.

Recently I've been using QR codes encouraging mobile users to connect with me. A QR Code is a square, two-dimensional bar code (as opposed to the typical one-dimensional bar code) that is meant to be scanned with a mobile phone camera. QR Codes can point to webpages, trigger a phone call or SMS on mobile devices, or display information (e.g. contact information typically found on a business card or in a vCard file). Mobile devices must have a camera lens and QR Code reader software (often available for free from app stores), and many device manufactures are starting to ship certain devices with necessary software pre-installed.

Try scanning the QR code at the top of this blog now.

I've incorporated it into my blogs and on the back of my business cards. You can use http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ to generate your own free code.

But yesterday, I made my first web site optimized for mobile devices. A mobile site is quicker to launch and easier to update. Check it out (using your mobile device) http://www.cellthishouse.com/

You could easily have a 2x2 sign rider displaying a simple QR Code outside a property that would point them to the property specific mobile site or virtual tour.

There are four basic rules to create a good site for a palm sized device:
1.    Stick to basic HTML tags such as: p, br, b, i, pre, headers (h1-6), blockquote, center, ul, ol, li, images, and simple tables
2.    Avoid frames, layers, imagemaps, plugins, Javascript, Java, and CSS*
3.    Keep your layout small, and avoid clutter
4.    Be aware of how graphics are displayed
Content is where your mobile page will succeed or fail. The key is to set up pages that have enough content to keep your offline readers happy, but not so much that it won't download or be difficult to read. You have to look at your site and decide what is the most essential. Web pages that are viewed on mobile device are usually used as a reference and should be short and to the point.

Here are some tips to remember when creating your mobile site:
•    Keep your pages small Navigation should be clear and concise
•    Avoid graphics that do nothing to add to the navigation or readability
•    Test your pages Be sure to test your pages in both smartphones like the iPhone and less sophisticated mobile devices like PDAs.
As more tools come to market and HTML5 support spreads, mobile Web apps will displace most ‘native’ apps. Brands can now build a single mobile Web presence that works across all mobile devices without the limitations, costs and maintenance issues of multiple app platforms. The mobile Web lets you address all of your mobile customers, not just those with iPhones and Android handsets."

Supernova Studios can help you get mobile. If you like the the property specific mobile site we've created above, contact us and we can provide you with a) training to build your own sites or b) a property specific mobile site ready to go, branded with your information.

The Whole Enchilada

Are you offering your customers the whole enchilada?

The term “whole enchilada” dates back to about 1960.  Like, “the whole nine yards,’ the terms mean that everything is in there. Why “enchilada”? Because there’s a BIG deal in it!

A total menu, you can order the complete meal or ala Carte. Starting with an appetizer and later, an entrée!

“Productizing” a service business.

One of the best ways to innovate your virtual tour service business is to “productize” your offering. Make the intangible tangible. Consumers are very accustomed to buying from a range of predefined offerings - think McDonalds combo packs, a burger, fries, and a drink.

Productizing services makes them easier to buy. It creates distinct advantage over other service providers and enhances your over-all service profitability.

For example, Tours D’ Force a Lenawee County Virtual Tour Company who specializes in promotional media services and interactive 360 virtual tours.  Toursdforce has a limited range of choices that are available to clients. The deliverables that are available from each offering are limited and the desired deliverables have been packaged into a pre-defined and stratified set of offerings. They’ve dramatically curbed customization in the sales cycle and positioned the sales cycle for value-add up-sells that will help increase their profitability. Most importantly Tours d’ force’s clients know about and can match budgets against a published price set for each offering.

Visit: http://toursdforce.com/pricing.html to see how our virtual tour company has productized their residential property marketing services, and http://toursdforce.com/commercial.html for their commercial cliental.

This ham-handed term simply means that you make your service look more like a product, so that it becomes easier for your clients to buy. You give it a defined scope, assign it a definite price tag, and attach a distinctive name. Turning a service into a physical product allows you to create a passive revenue stream, reach a larger audience and demonstrate your expertise.

There are many firms who simply cannot package their offerings. But for those whom this strategy makes sense, the guideline below is an effective approach that Tours D’ Force used for their clients.

How To Productize Offerings

1.    Base your offerings on previous experience. Analyze sales looking for trends in deliverables, pricing, and profits.
2.    Layer these into 3-5 levels of service, deliverables, and price where profits are guaranteed at each level.
3.    Fix price the offering. When someone buys a product, they need to know the exact price up front. Even if you are intending to have the offering as a free value-add to a larger purchase – putting a price on it demonstrates the value the customer is getting.
4.    Be clear about the benefits to the client. Document the value proposition of the offerings. Create a compelling story about each offering to help clients understand the range of solution and expect win-results associated with ascending price and value from least expensive to most expensive.
5.    Be crystal clear which activities occur during the engagement.
6.    List you’re up-sells options for all levels and ensure they can be delivered profitably at any level.
7.    Roll out offerings to your virtual tour customer’s first, get feedback from clients on your new service packages, and make adjustments to offerings as needed.
8.    Take them to market.

“Servicizing” a product business

Having a product to sell - rather than a service - may sound like earthly paradise, but unless you wrap and deliver your product with a unique approach to service, you stand to be just another commodity, and your margins may be ground down to merrily nothing. Why do people drive halfway across the city to fill up on gas that is one cent less per gallon? Because fuel is a commodity, and nobody actually believes there is a difference between Amoco BP’s Ultimate and Meijer’s (generic) premium 93.

Today in 2010, people line up every day at a Starbucks to gladly pay $5 for a Starbucks cup of coffee. So how did Howard Schultz and Starbucks do it?  How did they get people, who used to pay 50 cents for a cup of coffee, to fork over ten times that amount?  What did they do?  Hint: It’s not about the coffee. They did packaging. They created their own coffee language and customized each beverage and added enough service to its offering to avoid commoditization. Likewise, I pay nearly $150 for tennis shoes at the Foot Solutions instead of buying the same shoe online for $100. Why? Because I like the personalized service I get from the Foot Solutions: their skilled fitting professionals provide solutions with a broad range of footwear and the most innovative arch supports and custom orthotics on the market today. They devote 30-45 minutes on average with each client and they have a high rate of success in minimizing and/or totally alleviating foot and foot-related pain and discomfort.

You can make a $5 cup of Joe too, offer your clients the whole enchilada, which means making your virtual tour company look more like a product company and your product company more like a service company.

Stop PAYING for traffic tickets! Save Money for Marketing

Everybody wants and NEEDS to know what marketing techniques are working for their virtual tour company. As a budding Central Coast Virtual Tour Provider I've learned, there is no wrong or right way. The only right way is the way that works best. I've been told it is best to experiment with high-cost, low-cast, popular, and even odd forms of marketing. From donation work to billboards, the range for marketing is HUGE, and I have yet to scrape the surface.

Yesterday when asking the predictable yet powerful question "how'd you hear about us?" I was told by my new virtual tour customer that they saw my website posted on my truck. After all the door-to-door, phone calling, emailing, poster-making, flier handing, search engine optimizing marketing, the lead came from either the card door magnet or the vinyl lettering decal on my truck rear window. Amazing!

The vinyl lettering cost $30. And thanks to a suggestion from a recent virtual tour webinar put on by RTV virtual tour software company, I was led to a website where I purchased FOUR (4) full-color car door magnets for $49 including tax/shipping (I am a bottom-liner).This is only one of the many useful tactics I've put to use thanks to what I've learned from RTV.  They've been quite amazing at helping me get my virtual tour business off the ground and start making money right away.

What a great deal! If you are willing to tattoo your vehicle. I was. The vinyl lettering has survived just fine so far and the car door magnets are high-powered enough to not blow off while hi-speeding on the freeway... which honestly I had never thought about when making the purchase.

We see advertising every day, but something about seeing the company car and the person behind the wheel (or the business owner) gives it a bit of a personal touch. I am ALWAYS looking at decals on company cars and judging the business based on the upkeep of the vehicle and their driving courtesy.

So if you have a knack for annoying other drivers and/or like the dirt from last week's mudboggin competition left on the windows, this form of advertisement may not be for you. I must say it has improved my driving record from 4 tickets in 2009 to a whopping ZERO in 2010.  Good luck out there!

Virtual Tour Software Technology Tip

This virtual tour software tech tip covers how to add a virtual tour gallery to a non-real estate virtual tour. The "View My Tour Gallery" link only shows up on real estate tour types (RE, RC, VL, and IN). The reason for this is that most non-real estate tours are assigned to an owner that has a single tour, instead of a real estate agent that has many tours.

Support has been contacted lately by several dealers who didn't realize this and need a tour gallery featured on a group of tours. There is a way to add your own Gallery button if that is essential to your client's needs. Follow the directions below for each of your client's tours.

Adding the "View my Tour Gallery" option

1. Log into TMS
2. Mouse over My Account
3. Click Your Clients
4. Locate your Owner in the list
5. On the far right click on the magnifying glass symbol to open up the gallery page
6. Highlight the complete url in the address bar
7. Press Ctrl+c on the keyboard to copy the link
8. Close the gallery page
9. Locate a tour for the owner on TMS
10. Click the Pencil icon
11. Click on the Buttons tab
12. Locate the Video line
13. Click in the empty Link box on the far right
14. Press Ctrl+v on the keyboard to paste in the URL
15. Click in the box to the right of the word Video
16. Backspace over the word Video
17. Type in Gallery, View Gallery, See More Tours or other desired text
18. Press Save at the bottom of the page
19. Repeat for all the owner's tours

This will put a tab across the tour top that directs the tour viewer to click to see more tours. Even if you don't have an immediate need to add the "view my tour gallery" link for clients, it is wise to walk yourself through the steps so that you will be ready when the need arises.

The Importance of Blogging

As I have been blogging for more than a year more or less once a week it started to sink in...blogging is extremely powerful especially if you're an RTV virtual tour provider and don't have to pay for the 'google juice' from the virtual tour provider blog. To make it have maximum effect you need to continually participate, and the effect increases exponentially over time!  The posts stick, and keep there just waiting to be found!

I have been seriously posting for more than one year, Around 130 posts.  I cannot expect to reach the other bloggers that are in front of me in active rain, but I am trying hard to close the gap!  Every time I post a blog to active rain I also send it in to RTV to post in their blog.  Double your power!

As I get more people commenting on my blog and following me on twitter and facebook I noticed that the effort is worth while.  The digital footprint is growing, my Florida virtual tour company website has climbed in the Google page search to the front page, Google Analytics is showing more search results leading to website each week...now despite not all the searches and click change into a business offer some are already coming in.

I can feel the internet is at last paying back its effort, finally I am getting the occasional costumer, I just have to  to continue writing posts that contain useful information for prospects.

I just need to have enough patience. If you need information on how to increase your Internet marketing experience do not hesitate to contact me at 305 331 8960

The RTV Payback

Building a successful property marketing and virtual tour business in Silicon Valley can take a lot of unusual turns.  When Exposure Elements was founded a year ago I thought that I would be largely servicing realtors and I marketed to that area heavily. I totally discounted one of the best lead sources that us RTV Virtual Tour Photographers have at our disposal, RTV leads from their corporate site and Tour Track, RTV's National virtual tour accounts.

Leads are great! People from all over the World simply google for a virtual tour service, company, provider and no matter how you key it in RTV is always #1.  As a result they get a TON of traffic and therefore send out LOTS OF LEADS to us dealers.  When getting a lead from RTV you still need to pick up the phone and call these people but hey it's a lead and they're not that hard to close as long as you're friendly and attentive.  They've already made up their mind about us since we're #1.

Tour Track is great too.  This is where a company like KB Homes looks for a national virtual tour company and YES...you guessed it, they find RTV right away. Tour Track does have its challenges though but it is still work that I would not get without being affiliated with RTV. I have been critical in some ways of this program but yesterday I got an eye opening experience to the power that Tour Track can offer.  Jacque Burke, RTV's Director of National Accounts called me describing an immediate opportunity for 15-20 virtual tours for a local property manager.  I followed with the prospect to find out that this was only the first phase of a job that could have as many as 80 virtual tours over the next year or so. The total revenue opportunity here could be as much as $10K in 2011 with an immediate opportunity for about $2k.  Given that I do my part of good work, building a solid relationship around timeliness and always delivering what I commit plus a little extra I have a great customer.

The message here is that in the last six months, the time of my working relationship with Tour Track,  Jacque Burke and the Tour Track program have delivered to me the opportunity for $13K in business (including nearly $3K in booked and paid business)!! This still discounts several other leads that I am working on still. I have been told that this is an extraordinary amount of business from Tour Track during this time frame and is  WAY above average.  RTV tells me that the average dealers makes about $1000.00 every year from Tour Track and an unknown amount of money from the hundreds of leads that they give out. According to Jacque last year RTV gave back about $350k to their dealers and this year will be even more. I’d like to believe that my luck here was due to some magical characteristic of my magnetic personality but that probably isn’t true.  The Tour Track staff has been incredibly patient with me and consistently delivers what they commit to plus a little bit extra.

New RTV Mobile Websites are BIG HIT!

The South Eastern Valley Regional Association of Realtors had its annual conference and Powervision4Realestate.com a Scottsdale Virtual Tour Company decided to take a booth. We were the last allowed into the show and as a result were able to buy an associate membership for our new salesperson Tina Malko.

It was very last minute and I knew there were going to be over 1000 attendees so I decided to ask another RTV dealer – Rudy Gutierrez of Onview360.com to join us in working the booth. With Rudy’s specialty being creating virtual tours, my specialty being all things technical and Tina being a salesperson, we presented a united team front to the attending realtors.

By the end of the day over 200 people left cards at our booth requesting additional information regarding our Scottsdale Virtual Tours and our newest offering Realtor Mobile Websites . We gave away one hi-def
slide show to attract people to the booth and when they got there dazzled them with our new mobile websites.

Somewhat familiar with some of the competition’s texting systems, everyone thought that our system was the same, until we actually demonstrated right there in the booth. In preparation for the event, I had ordered sign riders from Jack Pratt Signs that stated TEXT message GR8HMS to 43766 and preloaded the sample site with our tours, pictures and other MLS listings. Even Rudy was impressed with how the Mobile Websites offered by RTV dealers served to capture the leads right on the spot.

I can't imagine where my property marketing and virtual tour business would be without RTV. I know we are not your biggest tour users, but we do a lot of other business based on the virtual tour and products and services that bring in a ton of profit. We are going to be selling more tours, because Tina is really gung ho and has helped develop an IPAD portfolio to demonstrate that will help us to ace each sale.

Another big help to my business is Robin Duran, RTV dealer from WI who constantly helps me with the RTV offerings he has found helpful to his VT business. With help from Robin and from another RTV Dealer, Nancy Bain of Nova Scotia Virtual Tours, I am getting ready to put out a facebook add to all realtors in Arizona. I will be using the technology to target my advertising to a limited audience of potential users I have identified. I actually learned this technique from Benn Kinney of Keller Williams in Seattle at Active Rain Camp. (Go if the tour comes through your town – its worth the $75).

If you have noticed one thing in this blog, you will have noticed that I specifically mention four RTV dealers, including one in my city. They aren’t the only ones who have helped me. I know Powervision4Realestate.com would be successful without the help of RTV and the other dealers, but I know that I wouldn’t be as profitable or as versatile without them. As dealers, you should all rely on each other and learn from each other. It’s a great time saver and it actually can result in some new and strong business and personal relationship.

Are you Getting Rank Spanked?

You can learn how to Rank-Spank the Competition!

Five weeks ago, I started learning from RTV how I can move my  moving up in the ranks, thanks to RTV's 12-week Social Ignition Course. At that point I had no investment in Twitter and had never heard of sites liked LinkedIn, Inman, and ActiveRain. Terms like Google Analytics, SEO, and tweeps were not in my cyber-vocab either. Just recently, however, I made the exciting discovery that my geo-keyword of SLO Virtual Tours has already earned my site the #9 ranking on Google SERP (Search Engine Results Page). Last week, you had to click to the 2nd or 3rd page to finally find my website.

Here's something I found interesting SO FAR in all this. Remember, I am only on week 5. Have you ever met someone, exchanged business cards, gone home, and then forgot their name or lost the business card? I wanted to see how my virtual tour website (or any links I created) would show up if they typed in parcels of my business name. The results were astounding! At worst, either a page in my site or a link to one of my accounts showed up with several variations or 'chunks' of my name.

It is helpful to keep spelling in mind when setting up your website as well. Is your name EASY to spell? If they can't recall where to space or how many t's were in your name, they may misspell it. I am not sure yet how Google handles this, so I've tried to insert a few different ways my name can be entered into a Google Search.

I am eager to continue the virtual tour company Social Ignition Course and encourage anyone who has not done it yet, to do it. Like Jason explains so well, it is a lot of information, it can be a lot of work at times, but it is not hard. Just get used to writing. I still am.

I would love to hear anybody's story or offer more information to someone who is thinking about taking the FREE course to boost their virtual tour sales.

Sincerely,

Kyle Murphy

Toursdforce IS the Solution

Small Businesses Need Innovation - Toursdforce IS the Solution!

Small business owner Hal Holubik announces www.toursdforce.com, the professional provider of promotional media services. Today we announce the official launch of 2011 Social Ignition course for small businesses and real estate agents. Toursdforce.com a Lenawee County virtual tour company will continue to help provide entrepreneurs with the tools necessary to increase traffic to their websites, create better SEO (search engine optimization), and of course encourage small business growth here in Lenawee County and the surrounding region.

"We recognize that small businesses need expert guidance and professional knowledge when it comes to SEO, digital marketing solutions, and social networking to truly become Visible," said Hal Holubik, Owner/Operator of Toursdforce.com. Our Program will help provide business owners with the steps necessary to take full advantage of our digital marketing packages, blogging, social networking, social bookmarking and micro blogging. Business owners willing to dedicate a little time each week WILL be able to dominate search engine results in their area, keep visitors on their websites longer, drive more traffic, and become a recognized leader in their field.

Hal Holubik has been helping small businesses with online marketing and social media for over three years. "What started as a hobby has now turned into a home based business," says Hal Holubik. The popular YouTube website has helped this and many other small businesses streamline promotional products and services to potential customers through the World Wide Web.

Google has also played an important role in his entrepreneur success. Hal Holubik states, "I enjoy helping small business owners and real estate agents write relevant and quality content enabling Google perform it magic and bring them up on first page search results. Small businesses continue to understand the importance of online marketing and social media and how Google helps people find information through their web based search engine results.”

Today, it’s impossible to separate social media from the online world.  Facebook reached 350 million users in 2009 – and it accounts for 25% of the Web’s traffic, according to PEW nearly one in five people on the web use Twitter or some other service to check status messages, and 94% of enterprises plan to maintain or increase their investment in enterprise social media tools. The social media conversation is no longer considered a Web 2.0 fad – it’s taking place in homes, small businesses and corporate settings, and extending its reach into nonprofit, education and health sectors. People now speak of social media as simply another channel or tactic to bring more people to their websites.

As new businesses grow and develop, social media innovation will no longer be limited by technology. Companies will need to look to innovate the way they use existing technology, rather than focusing on technology enhancements themselves. Small businesses will need to look to new ways of turning information into wisdom and insight into action. According to Hal Holubik, "Times are tough and forcing many small businesses into making cuts. However, this is the time for businesses to invest in innovation and web based services to help customers understand their mission and to gain the competitive edge."
